GTA 6 difficult fate. PROJECT AMERICAS

The game is inspired by the famous series of gangster adventures. Let’s figure out what comes out of this.

When I first saw it on Steam PROJECT AMERICAS: Open World Heists, then began to be tormented by vague doubts. I’ve definitely seen this somewhere before.

As it turned out, this Vicewave, which I had played before and which had already closed and changed its owner (supposedly, the name of the new office is very similar to the old one).

I liked the project ideologically then, but the technical implementation was very lame.

SO WHAT NOW?

Taking into account the above and the fact that the game is again in very early access, I decided to conduct a comparative analysis of what was and what is now. I want to make a reservation right away that this will be very subjective, since Vicewave I don’t remember my feelings very well anymore, but something, of course, is etched in my memory.

The plot, city, mechanics, activities – completely migrated from the previous game.

But there are also differences. Vicewave was extremely buggy. In the first task, I spent half an hour driving my uncle from point A to point B, who knows?! Either my uncle was glitching, then we couldn’t get into the car, then the car took off out of the blue, landed on the roof and…

Now everything is smooth, cheerful. Those few quests that are still in the game worked well. I even tried to play outside the box and break the game. No, it didn’t work out.

There are very few missions at the moment. We take our uncle to the base, recapture the boss’s car from the hijackers, meet a friendly mafioso at the airport, try to take away the business of a rival gang.

The last quest is not completed. We will be ordered to destroy the enemy bandit, but he will not be there. More precisely, there will be several, but their murder will not be counted.

Side activities work. You can rob stores (with the opportunity to grab the seller yourself), steal cars, fight with local residents and cops.

The city is still huge and Casino-And-Friend.co.uk cool, with a lot of points of interest.

Almost (there are mistakes, which are discussed below) they drive normally and cars are stolen. If you really like the car, you can place it for safekeeping in your garage at the mafia base.

There is a card game of Blackjack.

There are merchants with clothes, weapons and possibly something else. In order to equip guns you need an appropriate level of reputation.

Different types of weapons shoot very differently. The game’s combat is well done. There is partial destructibility of the environment, beautifully exploding objects.

A LITTLE ABOUT SAD

Of course, there are mistakes. But, purely subjectively, there are fewer of them.

I once saw a bug like in Cyberpunk 2077 at the start. I put the car in the garage, and the character with whom I was driving in the story remained in this form. I must say that this did not stop me from finishing the quest.

Some NPCs’ pants textures are missing. I’ve seen this three or four times.

The city streets are still empty of cars. They rarely stand on the street, they can be stolen, but they never go anywhere under the control of an NPC. The roads are dead at the moment and so is the city partly.

Cops are (not completely) bugged. They pursue the wanted hero too suspiciously successfully, they are guided as if by radar, even if they do not see the character and teleport not far from him. Of course you can run away from them. But the behavior of the law enforcement officers itself was poorly done.

For example, stuck in an unseen courtyard. The cops didn’t see me get in there. But we ran to the fence, hung out there and let’s shoot over the fence. Not cool.

The game has formally received a second chance and I really hope that they will take advantage of it. The stated gameplay itself is very attractive. All that’s left is to finish the storyline, make sure the side activities work correctly. There is a ā€œskeletonā€ and it is very good, all that remains is to build up the ā€œmeatā€. Some polishing has already been done, it clearly plays more pleasantly than before, but there is a carriage and a small cart ahead of the work.

The annoying thing is that, according to some signs, they are simply trying to sell the game a second time. I can’t say anything here. How to tell how the matter will end in the end. Experience suggests that the game will not be completed again. I would like to be wrong, but – as it is.

. Great overall GTA-like idea.

. The city is large in size and has many points of interest in it.

. Quite vigorous shootouts and fights.

. Not very large, but a decent number of weapons.

THINGS THAT CAN BE BOTH A PLUS AND A MINUS:

± The graphics in the game are simple. Personally, I liked it last time and now. But here opinions may differ.

āŒ The game is compromised due to the fact that it was unfinished in the first approach. And now they’re rolling it out to us as something new. If the new game were distributed to the owners of the old one, there would be more back and forth. I haven’t heard of such an initiative yet.

āŒ Very little story content. And bad thoughts arise again. If you are already making a new game, then – ok, add a lot of interesting things that work, and then sell it, but no.

āŒ While chasing the hero, the cops teleport nearby and, like homing missiles, run after our character and see him through the walls.

āŒ There are some bugs. A passenger in a car may freeze and the textures of NPC pants sometimes disappear.
