A Warm Welcome

A Warm Welcome

Ah, Bologna! It is good to be back in this old and wonderful city. Throughout the trip I have been pretty excited to get to Bologna but it was not for the food as many might think. Bologna is one of the food capitals of the world and they have won many trip advisor awards. However, what I love and remember most are the people. The hotel manager Roberto for our stay in Bologna is one of the sweetest people ever. You walk in and they go above and beyond to help you get your luggage in your room and give you recommendations of where to go. They even have hotel cats hanging around which really adds to the cozy atmosphere. Additionally, the restaurant owners are very warm and welcoming too. The place we ate at had some of the best ragu I have ever had and were really helpful when asking for a wine recommendation. In the morning when we were leaving Roberto organized all our taxi’s and waited outside to make sure we all got on safe and were confident telling them our destination. Don’t get me wrong, the food was amazing every place we went. However, a really good meal can easily be ruined by terrible service and poor company. It really does make a difference and the kindness and helpfulness of the people in this city is what sticks with me over anything else. Seeing the university of Bologna one of the oldest universities in the world was also very cool. Seeing the table where the idea for freakenstien was born was surreal. However, if you want great food and even better service, definitely add Bologna to your travel list.
